Meet your guide at the terminal gate and board your private coach for a scenic tour of Malaga. After you drive away from the buzzing streets you will head directly to the top of the hills and the Montes de Malaga mountain range to reach the Gibralfaro Castle.
Built in the 10th century, this fortress is an emblematic symbol of the city, boasting a spectacular view of the Andalusian town and its surroundings including the bullring. View the gardens, towers and ramparts of this place that was considered the most impregnable fortress of the peninsula.
Continue your scenic exploration down the hill and visit the Alcazaba. This 11th century citadel is ranked as one of the major Moorish masterpieces in the area, its patios, gardens and pools are extremely well preserved. The influence of different civilizations is evident from the Roman Theatre to the Aduana customs building.
Your next stop will advance you a few centuries in time as you learn of Malaga's most famous former citizen, Pablo Picasso. Picasso's father moved the family to the northwestern city of La Coruna when Picasso was a child but the city embraces the former resident and claims him as the city's most famous artist. Visit the Casa Natal, the birthplace of Picasso and museum, where over 200 works are on display covering the wide range of styles, materials and techniques he mastered. Transport through 80 years of legacy of one of the most famous painters of the 20th century with your knowledgeable guide in the arts and feast on some of the most famous paintings in the world.
After an informative visit, follow your guide to the narrow streets of Malaga's historical center and explore the main landmarks such as the Roman Theatre, Calle Alcazabilla, the Alameda del Parque, Malaga Cathedral, Plaza de la Merced, Calle Granada, the Church of Santiago, Buenavista Palace, Plaza de la Constitucion, Calle Larios and the popular Atarazanas market. Please Note: This tour can accommodate wheelchairs. You will have a separate driver and guide. Entrance fees are not included to the Picasso Museum (6.00 EUR) or the Alcazaba (2.60 EUR). The walk back to your ship is approximately 15 minutes, or a taxi ride will cost approximately 6.00 Euro.
